Microsoft has revealed its plans for Gamescom 2017 that will focus on making new announcements about the Xbox One X. The company will also be celebrating the 20th anniversary of “Age of Empires” at the upcoming event.

Gamescom 2017 will take place in Cologne, Germany and will actually kick off on Aug. 22, Tuesday. However, Microsoft will be hosting its first scheduled event a bit earlier on Aug. 20, Sunday. The event will be live streamed starting at 12 p.m. PDT.

Microsoft didn’t go into specifics, but it did say that it will share some “latest news and announcements” about the Xbox One X. This will include showing off games, conversations with developers and studios and perhaps outing new gameplay footage for upcoming new titles. Microsoft also teased that there will be “surprises and giveaways” during the event.

Aug. 21 will be Microsoft’s 20th anniversary celebration of “Age of Empires.” The event will once again be available to watch through a livestream which starts at noon. Microsoft says that it will also give fans a first look at the remastered version of the game called “Age of Empires: Definitive Edition,” which will be available for Windows PCs, according to Polygon.

“We’ll be talking all things ‘Age of Empires’ with some of the legendary developers who worked on the games as well as sharing some exciting news that fans will not want to miss,” Microsoft said on its website.

On Aug. 22, which also marks the beginning of Gamescom 2017, Microsoft will allow members of the press to try out the Xbox One X. The company will have an Xbox booth at Hall 8 of the Koelnmesse exhibition center.

“This will be the first time Xbox One X will be on the ground in Europe and we’ll have a huge line up of 27 playable games for the Xbox One family of devices and Windows 10 PC from developers around the world,” Microsoft said.

Microsoft also provided the complete schedule for Gamescom 2017 attendees who want to try out the Xbox One X for themselves.

  • Wednesday, August 23 – 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. CEST
  • Thursday, August 24 – 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. CEST
  • Friday, August 25 – 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. CEST
  • Saturday, August 26 – 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. CEST

Microsoft stated that attendees will be able to play games that are coming to Xbox One consoles over the next 12 months. “And throughout the week, we’ll be tweeting, live streaming and sharing news and content via social media – Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook, Mixer, etc.,” Microsoft said.

Microsoft will also be hosting an Xbox FanFest experience on Aug. 22. However, the company didn’t provide any information on what fans can expect from the Xbox FanFest. It just stated that it will share more details about it “soon.”
