Miley Cyrus Taking Hiatus After Surgery; Singer's New Album, Tour Was 'Put On Hold'

Miley Cyrus has been dominating the headlines for several weeks now, following her splits from Liam Hemsworth and Kaitlynn Carter. The “Butterfly Fly Away” singer has, also, been flaunting her romance with Cody Simpson on social media, posting racy photos and videos of them as they enjoy each other’s company. Recently, the Disney alum trended anew after she underwent vocal cord surgery.

People, on Saturday, reported that Miley went under the knife after the doctors found out about her damaged vocal cords. The “Hannah Montana” star, who is known for her deep voice, previously, revealed that she discovered a separate issue with her voice box while recovering from her tonsillitis last month. The publication shared Cody’s girlfriend has to undergo more surgeries before the year ends and that her recuperation would take several weeks.

This, then, sparked speculations that Miley Cyrus might take a hiatus from the spotlight as it would take her quite some time before she could fully recover from her surgeries. E! News confirmed that Miley will have to put her new album launch and tour on hold. Despite this, the “Wrecking Ball” hitmaker is still expected to release new tracks.

"She is still going to release new music but it's taking longer than anticipated," a source told the entertainment news outlet about Miley’s upcoming album. "Some of it has to do with the throat surgery she recently had," it added. Another insider suggested that the songstress is doing great and she might return to the limelight early next year.

A separate tipster told E! News that Cody has been at Miley’s side after her most recent surgery. "Cody was with her at the hospital and has been by her side," a source revealed to the publication. "He's with her at the housekeeping her company. They are staying in resting up and watching movies," it went on.

Cody Simpson appeared to reference Miley Cyrus’ surgery when he shared a photo of them on Friday on Instagram. The snap featured the couple wearing a matching dark sweater with Miley looking makeup-less. “Success,” the Aussie musician wrote in the caption.

In October, Miley revealed she was on vocal rest as she was recovering from her tonsillitis. “The Last Song” actress posted a video of her doing some reformer pilates. “On vocal rest not body,” she said in the caption.
