While the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards is slated to air on August 26, one notable singer will definitely be MIA from the awards show.

According to Miley Cyrus, there will be no way she will be performing at the VMAs after receiving a snub as a possible award nominee. Cyrus didn’t receive one nomination for her “She Is Coming” album, and the singer reportedly wasn’t pleased with the decision.

When a fan posted a message to the “Wrecking Ball” singer’s Instagram, saying “Guess I'm not watching the VMAs this year. Unless Miley performs,” Cyrus was quick to respond, E! News reported.

She wrote, “No [expletive] way” in response to the posters comment

Fans seem to be equally disappointed that Cyrus wasn’t nominated as her “She Is Coming” album has an especially hearty song dubbed “Mother’s Daughter.” In the video for the song, Cyrus features her mother as well as transgender, disabled, non-binary, and plus-size women in it, giving a nod to acceptance of diversity.

Cyrus performed at the VMAs in 2013 with an infamous performance of her dancing provocatively with her tongue out in a teddy bear outfit. During the performance, she twerked with Robin Thicke and grabbed her own crotch while undressing to nude, latex bikini ensemble.

The VMAs will be hosted by Sebastian Maniscalco and will air live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
