Milwaukee has not won a major professional sports championship in nearly 50 years. With the nearby Green Bay Packers in the midst of their second straight losing season and the Milwaukee Brewers recovering from their loss in the NLCS, all eyes are on the talented Milwaukee Bucks to bring home the city’s first NBA title since 1971.

The Bucks are tied for fourth in Vegas Insider’s betting odds to win the NBA Finals, with 20/1 odds. They have the same odds as the Houston Rockets and Philadelphia 76ers. They are behind the Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors, despite the Bucks currently being the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

Milwaukee has won nine of its last 11 games, largely thanks to the play of MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo. The 24-year-old is having an excellent year, averaging 26.6 points, 12.8 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game. He is hitting 58.6 percent of his shots from the field, though he is only making 15.4 percent of his shots from beyond the arc.

Antetokounmpo was rewarded for his efforts last week. He won the Eastern Conference Player of the Week award for the week of Dec. 17 to 23.

Khris Middleton, Eric Bledsoe, Malcolm Brogdon and Brook Lopez all average double figures in scoring, as well.

The Bucks could get some additional scoring punch soon, as well. They recalled rookie guard Donte DiVincenzo from the Wisconsin Herd, and hope to get forward Ersan Ilyasova back from a nose injury in the near future.
