The police in Texas are asking for the public's help to find a 38-year-old woman who was reported missing Tuesday.

The reigning Mrs. Dallas pageant queen, Lashun Massey, was last seen when she went out for an early morning run. The police said Massey was seen walking near Lago de Claire, a small body of water close to Riverside Drive and East Royal Lane, CBS DFW reported.

Crews from the Irving and Lewisville Fire Departments started searching the lake Tuesday to rule out the possibility of drowning, The Dallas Morning News reported.

Massey's husband had reported her missing after she did not return home from the walk. He told the police her purse, keys and two elementary school-aged children were at home. She was wearing a black hoodie and checkered pajama pants.

Following initial investigation, authorities had said some people had seen Massey walking on the edge of lake Lago de Claire. “They had asked her if she was okay and she said she was so they carried about their business,” firefighter Robert Keeker said. “After that, they said they saw her exit the water and then we later received a tip someone else had seen her walking in the water again a couple hours later.”

Massey is scheduled to compete Thursday for the title of Mrs. Texas America in Corsicana.

“Lashun is the smartest woman I have ever met for our age and this is not something she would do,” Kelly Andrews, who has been friends with Massey since kindergarten told local media. “She was top of our class. I’m just mesmerized by her accomplishments and how much she has achieved in life.”

The Irving police urged the public to come forward with information about the missing woman by calling 972-273-1010.
