Major League Baseball on Wednesday released its schedule for the 2023 season, and it includes several notable changes from past years. Teams will play fewer divisional matchups, along with more interleague games than ever before.

The 2023 MLB season includes the introduction of a balanced schedule. Teams will go from playing 76 divisional games (19 against each opponent) in 2022 to just 52 total divisional games (13 against each opponent) in 2023.

For the first time in history, every MLB team will pay each other in the same season. Each team's interleague schedule includes a three-game series against 14 teams in the other league. Natural interleague rivals, such as the two New York teams and the two Chicago teams, will face off in a pair of two-game, home-and-home series.

The rest of each team's schedule is made up of 64 intraleague games. Teams will play 32 home games and 32 road games against teams outside of their division that are in the same league.

Opening Day for the 2023 MLB season is slated for March 30 with every team on the schedule. The New York Yankees will host the San Francisco Giants to start the regular season. The Toronto Blue Jays and St. Louis Cardinals will meet in another interleague Opening Day game.

Rainouts have prevented every team from starting the season on the same date for 54 years.

T-Mobile Park will host the All-Star Game on July 11. It marks the first time in 22 years that Seattle is the site of the MLB's star-studded exhibition contest.

Baseball will return to London on June 24-25. The Chicago Cubs and Cardinals will play a short series across the pond.

The 2023 Little League Classic will feature the Philadelphia Phillies and Washington Nationals. The NL East rivals are scheduled to face off at Muncy Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field in Williamsport, Pennsylvania on Aug. 20.

Sunday, Oct. 1 is the final day of the regular season. The 2023 MLB postseason will likely start on Tuesday, Oct. 3, considering the playoffs typically start two days after the regular-season finale.

There is no Field of Dreams Game scheduled in 2023.
