  • Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal will finally face each other at UFC 272
  • Covington and Masvidal used to be best of friends
  • The pair swear nothing will change between them after the fight

Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal’s feud has gone too personal as there has been a lot of back and forth between UFC 272 headliners this past week.

As they edged closer to their highly-anticipated “grudge match,” the two welterweights insisted that not one bit would change even after the fight.

During UFC 272 media day, Covington set the record straight and stressed he would not make peace with Masvidal.

Moreover, “Chaos” vowed to let “Gamebred” have it whenever they cross paths in Miami.

“Who wants to bury the hatchet with a criminal, with a thief, with a dirtbag scumbag?” Covington asked.

“More of his family likes me than they even like him. I’m not burying it with that dirtbag criminal. The city isn’t big enough for both of us. If I see him in Miami, he’s getting dropped on his head. He doesn’t even train in Miami, he’s from Broward County and trains in Coconut Creek, Florida. I’m from Miami and train there,” he added.

“I’m in the heart of Miami, and I’m the king of Miami and I’m going to prove it Saturday night.”

In a recent interview with the New York Post, Masvidal also addressed the issue. Unsurprisingly, the UFC’s “BMF” feels the same way about his former American Top Team teammate.

According to Masvidal, Covington crossed the line when he started talking about personal matters leading to the fight.

“I can’t see myself eye-to-eye with somebody like that, that will talk about women, that will talk about an opponent’s kids, that’ll talk about an opponent’s religion, that’ll talk about an opponent’s country.,” Masvidal said of Covington.

“Those are people I don’t side with,” he continued. “I don’t like that style of marketing whatsoever. … Yeah, it’s great to make fun of your opponents. If someone’s making fun of me, no hard feelings. [Say] whatever you want to say about me, but what do my kids have to do with it exactly? Tell me, because if you think that’s going to strike a nerve or you think that’s going to sell more pay-per-views, whatever it is, it’s a scumbag move. So, the only hatchet I’m burying with Colby is in his f–---- neck.”

UFC 272 will take place on Saturday, March 5 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
