On Sunday night some of the best and brightest celebrities poured into The Forum in Inglewood, California, to attend the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards. While the night is dedicated to celebrating and acknowledging music, it’s hard to ignore the fashion.

The VMAs are bound to have OMG moments but the unforgettable fashion is something that needs to be recognized. Check out these celebrities who were some of the best dressed to hit the red carpet ahead of the award ceremony.

Making her way onto the red carpet, singer Katy Perry guaranteed that she would be the talk of the night. Not only is she hosting the big show but she managed to show up in a breathtaking all white ensemble. Perry is set to take the stage and is up for five nominations. Perry will compete against some of the hottest artists for best collaboration, best pop, best direction, best art direction and best visual effects.

While it may only be the VMAs, Lorde showed up looking like a princess. The “Green Light” singer wore a purple Monique Lhuillier dress making her look like the bell of the ball at the award show where some celebs tend to wear jeans and sweatshirts for dresses. (We’re talking to you Noah Cyrus.) Needless to say, Lorde, who is up for artist of the year and best editing, definitely had a fashion win tonight.

Demi Lovato hit the carpet showing off one of her sexier looks with an all black ensemble. While her top featured a sheer lace design, her pants were sequined and cropped. Lovato who has hit songs like “Sorry Not Sorry” and “Confident” will hit the stage tonight.

Elsewhere, Vanessa Hudgens was a gorgeous lady in red when she made her way into The Forum. The “So You Think You Can” judge, who will be a presenter at the show, wore a Yanina Couture dress.

Hailee Steinfeld

Actress Hailee Steinfeld, who introduced Julia Michaels to the stage, looked all grown up in her detailed mini dress. The actress seemed thrilled to introduce the singer songwriter who wrote her hit single “Love Yourself.”

Rapper Nicki Minaj was pretty in pink on the red carpet this year. The star, who wore a sexy navy blue dress with unique cut outs and sheer material last year, opted for a sexy pink latex suit. Minaj’s restricting gown at the 2016 MTV Music Video Awards made it difficult for her to walk down the carpet and forced her to rely on the backdrop and ex-boyfriend Meek Mill to hold her up.

However, Minaj was the epitome of goals when she confidently strutted down the red carpet solo looking eager to hit the stage with Perry later on in the night to perform their song “Swish Swish.”

Fifth Harmony also looked picture perfect as they hit the VMA red carpet as a foursome. Singers Ally Brooke Hernandez, Lauren Jauregui, Normani Kordei and Dinah Jane Hansen are nominated for best choreography, song of the summer and best pop video.

The group who has already picked up an award spoke with Entertainment Tonight prior to the show and revealed that they would feel honored to pick up another award during the ceremony. “We’ve already been blessed with three Moonmen that are in our houses, which is crazy,” Jauregui told the media outlet.

“So that feeling, like, anytime you win an award -- but especially these -- they are so iconic. It’s just like a humbling experience of like, ‘Wow, we worked so hard for this.’”

The MTV Video Music Awards airs live on MTV at 8 p.m. EDT on MTV. Find out who is nominated here and how to watch online here. Check out some of the best dressed stars below.
