Technology shares slipped while the Dow industrials trimmed its gain and the S&P 500 was flat on Friday, with Apple the top drag on the Nasdaq.

Apple's stock has lost ground since its gains on Wednesday when it unveiled the iPad tablet device.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 20.18 points, or 0.20 percent, at 10,140.64, off its session high at 10,239.34. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down just 0.54 of a point, or 0.05 percent, at 1,083.99, after earlier climbing as high as 1,096.45. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was down 7.66 points, or 0.35 percent, at 2,171.34. Earlier, the Nasdaq rose as high intraday as 2,202.84.
