Highway 65 Records will need some new blood in “Nashville” Season 4. Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) left Rayna’s (Connie Britton) fledgling label in the finale, leaving Rayna with only two acts. She’ll quickly sign another artist who might be the next Luke Wheeler (Will Chase) … but he also might have Luke’s ego.

Markus Kane will be Rayna’s latest act, according to TV Line. It sounds like it’ll be a pretty big win for her too since all of the other labels in Nashville are fighting for him. However, things will quickly go downhill. “Markus realizes how much Rayna’s fledgling company needs his solo album to be a hit,” TV Line reports. “That’s when his controlling, narcissistic side comes out.”

Rayna really does need someone to be successful. Juliette never released an album on Rayna’s label, and Sadie (Laura Benanti) left town before it could happen. With her ex-husband Teddy (Eric Close) likely going to prison, Rayna has to create a successful business. While Gunnar (Sam Palladio) and Scarlett (Clare Bowen) as well as Layla (Aubrey Peeples) are great, they don’t have the mainstream appeal of someone like Juliette. Markus might be able to bring that to the table, but his ego might make Rayna wish she had Juliette back. “He’ll test his boss’ boundaries throughout the writing, recording and release of his first solo album,” the report teases.

As previously reported, Juliette’s future might not look so great after leaving Rayna’s label and hiring Jeff (Oliver Hudson) as her manager. “It probably feels for her, at least initially, like the form of a solution,” showrunner Dee Johnson warned the Hollywood Reporter in May. “But it's attacking a symptom and not the real cause of the problem. I don’t think things will go quite as well as for her as she thinks they will with that decision having been made.”

Juliette will have to deal with her postpartum depression eventually, and she might go running back to Rayna’s label when she does. However, fans will have to wait until Season 4 premieres to see if she finally addresses her illness.

“Nashville” Season 4 premieres Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC. Do you think Rayna will be able to make her label successful? Sound off in the comments section below!
