National Student Athlete Day 2021: 10 Motivational Quotes For Young Sportspersons

National Student Athlete Day is observed annually on April 6 with an aim to promote positive virtues of sport and to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of student athletes.

It was first established in 1987 by National Consortium for Academics and Sports. It is estimated that since its inception, the consortium has honored over 4.4 million student athletes with certificates. The day recognizes student athletes who have made a positive impact on their communities while earning GPAs of 3.0 or higher.

Many student athletes take on responsibilities in their communities and serve as role models for others. The occasion aims at encouraging families, schools and students to support the students in their endeavors.

National student athlete day celebrations are focused to promote young athletes in their efforts. Parents, teachers and the community can support them in many ways. They can encourage the students by nominating them for student athlete awards for categories including courageous student-athletes (male & female), coaches, civic leaders, and barrier breakers.

The parents and teachers can also help the student athletes to cope with the stress, ensuring they rest and eat well while helping them balance school, practice and social life.
