National Wine Day 2019: Best Recipes, Bottles, Deals And Specials To Enjoy

It’s a Saturday, it’s Memorial Day Weekend, and today also happens to be National Wine Day 2019. With essentially three holidays all happening at once, you’re definitely going to want to spend the day celebrating. Luckily, there are a bunch of ways for you to do just that.

Here are a few different wines for you to try (for all budgets), recipes for you to make and deals for you to enjoy:

WINES

Intermingle Red Blend ($7)

Whether you’re celebrating the holiday alone or plan on having a bunch of friends over, this ALDI-exclusive California medium-dry red wine is a thrifty way to enjoy the day.

SVEDKA Rosé ($14)

If you want to enjoy National Wine Day but get a little boozier with it, this vodka made with five percent rosé wine is the perfect way to go.

Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio ($20)

Sit back on National Wine Day with a classic white wine to give yourself a little refresh.

Très Chic Rosé ($20)

There’s nothing like enjoying a nice rosé as the summer season nears and the weather warms.

WineSociety ($49+)

Think outside the box this holiday, and drink red, white or rosé wine out of a 500ml can. That’s close to a full bottle of wine, but since it’s in a can it’s a personal size, right?

RECIPES

Très Chic Blueberry Basil Rosé Smash

Ingredients:

• 4 oz Très Chic Rosé
• 3/4 oz gin
• 1 oz coconut water
• 3/4 oz lemon juice
• 1/2 oz simple syrup or 1 tsp sugar
• 1/3 cup blueberries, muddled
• 4 muddled basil leaves

After adding Très Chic Rosé, gin, blueberries, coconut water, lemon juice and simple syrup to a shaker, muddle the blueberries, and then add the basil leaves and muddle those, too. Add ice before shaking and straining into an ice-filled glass.

SVEDKA Rosé Clover

Ingredients:

• 2oz SVEDKA Rosé
• 0.75oz Lillet Rose
• 0.75oz lemon juice
• 0.75oz 1:1 simple syrup
• 4 raspberries
• 2 dashes orange bitters

Simply shake all the items in a mixing tin with ice and strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with a lemon twist and skewered raspberries.

Peach Sangria

Ingredients:

• 1 peach, sliced
• ½ orange, sliced
• ¾ cup peach brandy
• 1 bottle white wine, chilled
• 4 cups Sparkling Ice Classic Lemonade

Lightly muddle the peaches, oranges, cranberries and brandy in a pitcher before adding the wine and Sparkling Ice Classic Lemonade. Stir, and serve over ice with a peach slice to garnish.

Carrabba’s Italian Grill is offering entrée-buying patrons the option to grab an endless glass of peach, red or blackberry sangria for $12.99 through May 27. If you’re looking for some straight-forward wine specials, Giordano’s Pizza is offering half off their house wines all day Saturday.

If you’re just looking for alcohol specials to take advantage of today, and don’t necessarily need them to be focused on wine, here are a few others to check out.
