KEY POINTS

  • The Golden State Warriors are looking to recover after a difficult campaign
  • One talent they can look into is San Antonio Spurs' Marco Belinelli
  • Belinelli was a former Warrior and possesses great shooting ability from beyond the arc

Amidst all the uncertainty by the Golden State Warriors this season, the franchise is determined to make the best adjustments for the team. One possible talent the squad can take advantage of San Antonio Spurs’ Marco Belinelli.

With everything that has happened with Golden State this year, the team has been active in experimenting with their roster. Despite the difficult campaign, several moves were made in order to improve their options for years to come. This includes trading their offseason pickup of D’Angelo Russell for the services of former number one overall pick Andrew Wiggins.

While there were bright spots for the Warriors including the rise of sensational rookie Eric Paschall, the team remains far from their dominant form. Per Fansided’s Blue Man Hoop, adding someone like Belinelli can further deepen the offensive strength of the team as the 34-year-old veteran can provide a spark for Golden State. Throughout his career, the six-foot-five shooter out of Italy has been a reliable threat from beyond the arc.

The shooting ability of Belinelli is nothing new for the Bay Area squad as he started his NBA journey with the Warriors back in 2007. With over a decades worth of experience in the league, the current Spur has developed into a mature player who can hit shots when expected. In this season, Belinelli is tallying 5.8 points per game to go along with 36.8% shooting from deep.

With an environment such as the Warriors organization, Belinelli can thrive with playing alongside stars such as Klay Thompson and Steph Curry. The high-octane offense is something the former NBA champion can contribute to given how accustomed he is in letting it fly from downtown. While his stats don’t scream star potential, he can be a good source of offense and remove some pressure from the shoulders of the Splash Brothers.

While plans are not final yet for the Bay Area team, it would be interesting to see how Golden State will strategize for the upcoming seasons. It will be important to see how role players such as Belinelli can help contribute to the energy and success of the Warriors.
