DeMarcus Cousins suffered another setback in his NBA career and most felt that he would be moping around somewhere. Suffering yet another injury that has stopped him dead on his tracks, such did not stop him from pushing through with his other personal plans. That included marrying his long-time girlfriend, Morgan Lang.

There were several players in attendance, including Matt Barnes who played alongside Cousins during the 2016-17 NBA season. There were other familiar faces to celebrate Boogie's special day as well. Among those in attendance were Draymond Green, Anthony Davis, and Andre Iguodala, TMZ Sports reported. Overall, Cousins' wedding looked a bit like the NBA All-Star weekend.

At one point, Cousins and his wife had their first dance. Footage of the event showed the 29-year-old moving nice and slow, something expected since he is being cautious of his knee. In all, Cousins hardly showed any frustration and Barnes can attest to that.

"He's been through a lot of late, so I'm happy to see him smile, be able to take his mind off his injury and enjoy his day," said Barnes when asked on how Cousins was during the wedding.

After years of dealing with injuries, this was one special event that may somehow ease the burden for Cousins. The Lakers have found a replacement in Dwight Howard although it is a non-guaranteed deal. The deal was made official after the many-time former NBA defensive player of the year cleared waivers with the Memphis Grizzlies, the Los Angeles Times reported. To make room for his coming, the Lakers cut Aric Holman.

Most believe that Cousins holds low chances of making a return this 2019-20 NBA season. Suffering injuries the past years, it would be in the best interest of the fifth overall pick of the 2010 Draft not to rush his return. A lot of people feel that he can still make an NBA return, one of which is a former Laker in Steve Nash. Much of that was covered in a previous post.

As for the Lakers, it will be interesting how the second coming of Howard will work out. Like Cousins, he too has dealt with injuries the past years. Depending on how he performs, it will be interesting if the Lakers will utilize him extensively or sparingly this coming season.
