One superstar’s current, unprecedented hot streak has left little question as to who would be named NBA MVP if the season ended today. Houston Rockets guard James Harden is on one of the most impressive regular season scoring runs in NBA history, and BetDSI has him as the easy betting favorite to win his second consecutive MVP award with -160 odds.

He has been the favorite for a number of weeks now, as his efforts have almost single handedly gotten the Rockets back in Western Conference playoff contention after a disappointing start to the season.

Harden is averaging 36.2 points, 8.2 assists and 6.2 rebounds per game. He is shooting 43.8 percent from the field and 36.9 percent from beyond the arc. He has been especially good in recent weeks, as he has scored more than 30 points in 22 consecutive games. He is averaging 44.4 points per game in January alone.

He is on pace to finish with a scoring average that is six points per game higher than his MVP season last year.

The bearded Rockets star is the heavy favorite right now, with Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks as the only other player who is remotely close in the betting odds. The 24-year-old is averaging 26.6 points, 12.6 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game for the top seeded team in the Eastern Conference.

Antetokounmpo is also shooting 58.1 percent from the field.
