  • Anthony Davis sustained an ankle injury in the Lakers vs. Jazz game last Wednesday
  • Davis will be out for two weeks, missing three to four games for the Lakers
  • LeBron James’ efforts may not be enough to push the Lakers to the NBA Finals

The woes continue for the Los Angeles Lakers after Anthony Davis suffered an ankle injury in their game against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday, February 16.

Davis sustained it in the first half after falling awkwardly on Rudy Gobert’s heel.

It was a scary moment for the Lakers considering Davis landed awkwardly. But after some x-rays were done on his ankle, it was found that the eight-time All-Star did not suffer a fracture in his ankle, ESPN reported.

Hence, Davis has been initially diagnosed to be out for two weeks. However, the Lakers will re-evaluate him after the All-Star break.

Looking at their schedule, the 6-foot-10 cager may miss three to four games that the Lakers will play after the All-Star break.

Regardless of when Davis can return, the fact remains that the injuries he has suffered this season have made him brittle.

He will not be in 100% condition if ever the Lakers make the playoffs, casting doubts on how far Los Angeles can go this season.

LeBron James will be tasked to carry the load once more, someone who is also not spared from the injury bug.

Russell Westbrook has not exactly been living up to his name as the proper third piece of the Lakers’ "Big Three, but a few pundits are still hoping that the former MVP awardee could get his groove back.
