  • LeBron James admits that he's not ruling out a possible return to Cleveland
  • Jalen Rose thinks James is a good fit for the current Cavs team
  • The Lakers are reportedly having a one-sided war with the four-time MVP

An NBA Legend has shared his bold take on LeBron James’ chances of copping another title.

During his return to Cleveland for the All-Star weekend, James addressed a few talked-about issues in his career—a possible reunion with the Cavaliers and his thoughts on retirement.

To everyone’s surprise, James confessed that he’s not ruling out a potential return to Cleveland. He also confirmed that he will be playing his last NBA season alongside his son, Bronny, no matter what.

The four-time MVP’s admission generated quite a buzz with the Cavs appearing to have better chances of winning over the Lakers.

Veteran NBA analyst Jalen Rose weighed in on the subject and agreed that James’ coming back to Cleveland makes sense.

According to Rose, making a sterling return to the Cavs for a “minimum” deal is James’ only chance of winning another championship.

He also noted that it will also be interesting to see how things will play out if Cleveland manages to sign Bronny in a couple of years.

"If LeBron really wants to go win a championship, you know what he needs to do? Go to Cleveland and play for the minimum,” Rose said on ESPN’s “Get Up.” “That's what he'd actually do. Not force them to give up their young assets like Garland, Mobley who were terrific this weekend, along with Jarrett Allen, Sexton, who’s still a part of their growth period, we’ll see what happens with him.”

“Hopefully, Bronny [James] continues to work on his game if he’s in the league in a couple of years, and then I guess that team will determine ultimately if LeBron plays his last season with them,” he continued. “But if he wants to win the championship in the meantime, in-between time,[he should go to Cleveland].”

As things stand, James' current deal with the Lakers will run until 2023.

However, with the team in terrible shape this season, rumors swirled that the situation is now “tense” that it can be described as like “the early days of a war,” Bill Oram of The Athletic reported.

“Because James and agent Rich Paul long grabbed hold of the Lakers organization and are now beginning to really squeeze,” Oram wrote. “The situation is tense enough that one source close to the Lakers likened it to the early days of a war.”

“So far, the Lakers haven’t shown a particular willingness to engage in battle with their superstar, with sources saying that [Rob] Pelinka has insisted internally that there are no hard feelings between the two sides,” he added. “But even if it is, for now, a one-sided war, by digging their heels in and not giving James everything that he wants has the potential to be received as a form of aggression—a battle tactic in its own right.”
