KEY POINTS

  • The Golden State Warriors have been consistent in terms of winning games
  • A Denver Nuggets player ranted over the Warriors’ success
  • Dubs coach Steve Kerr is confident they can win a championship again

The Golden State Warriors are back in their championship form, and as expected, not all are happy about it.

After failing to reach the NBA Finals this past two consecutive seasons, the Warriors have finally found their rhythm.

It can be recalled that the Dubs made a historic championship feat from 2015 to 2019, winning three of their five NBA Finals appearances.

This season, it appears that they are primed for another championship run once again.

While some of the Warriors’ rivals in the league silently gauge the situation, Denver Nuggets guard Austin Rivers is not shying away from expressing his raw thoughts about the matter.

Speaking on a recent Instagram Live post, Rivers exclaimed that he’s “tired” of the Warriors and he doesn’t appreciate even “one bit” of the team’s constant success.

“Golden State looks very solid right now," the 29-year-old ranted. "I hate to see it. I don’t like it one bit. I’m tired of that f--king team… they got a good mix of young talent, good vets.”

Rivers also hit out on Warriors fans for welcoming back Andrew Wiggins after having urged Golden State to “trade him” last season.

“A lot of you Warriors fans was off [Andrew] Wiggins when he first signed with the Warriors, keep it 100,” he stressed. “Last year, you all were talking about ‘trade him, this and that’ now everybody is talking all highly. Come on now.”

Indeed, the Warriors have been consistent in terms of winning games and almost the entire squad has been contributing to it.

Stephen Curry has continued where he left off in scoring, and the addition of youngsters Jordan Poole, Damion Lee and Gary Payton II have evidently made the backcourt more lethal.

Wiggins and Draymond Green, meanwhile, have been resurgent thus far. Atop that, the nearing return of Klay Thompson is also expected to add depth to the team’s offense.

Acknowledging his squad’s exceptional form, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr believes they are on course to winning “a championship” again.

"It's great to be back in the mix,” Kerr told The Athletic . “What I've learned, though, in five trips to the finals, is that so much is just up in the air—circumstances you can't control. I know it's coach speak, but if we just come in every day and get our work in and enjoy the process, we're going to win a ton of games. We've already proven that. We keep trying to get better, put ourselves in the best position possible.”

"We think we can win a championship."
