KEY POINTS

  • The Brooklyn Nets are looking to add more firepower to their team
  • Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant are looking to come back next season after they recover from their injuries
  • Bradley Beal is an option to consider for the Nets

The Brooklyn Nets are one of the more promising teams in the NBA. While they’re only seventh in the Eastern Conference, their roster has a lot of potential. They signed Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant in the offseason and are looking to bounce back as a super team in the succeeding years.

Durant is nursing a torn Achilles as he went down in last season’s playoffs. It was in game 5 of the NBA Finals where the superstar forward returned to action. Unfortunately for the 10-time All-Star, his early return was a key contributor to him aggravating his injury.

Irving, on the other hand, only saw limited games this season as he was hurdled with injuries. He was ruled out of the season as he is currently recovering from an arthroscopic procedure on his right shoulder.

Irving’s absence saw the rise of the young stars of the team in Spencer Dinwiddie and Caris LeVert. Dinwiddie has been phenomenal as he’s averaging 20.6 points and 6.8 assists per outing. LeVert has also stepped up when the Nets needed him the most. He recently exploded for 51 big points in a road win against the third-seeded Boston Celtics.

The star duo of Durant and Irving is expected to return next year for the Nets. There have also been key additions to the squad, mainly DeAndre Jordan. Jordan is a former All-Star himself and was part of the All-NBA first team in 2016.

With these pieces in play, the Nets are still looking to add another strong offensive presence in the team.

Speculation has risen that the Nets have their eyes on Washington Wizard Bradley Beal. Brooklyn’s young players Dinwiddie and LeVert are proven assets that are valuable to any team in the league. A deal with the Wizards and Nets can solidify Brooklyn as one of the main threats in the NBA. Having Beal in their squad will be a nightmare for any defense as the Wizards star has proven time and time again how lethal he is on the floor.

Beal has been one of the most explosive scorers in the league as he’s displayed in his elite offensive ability.
