Los Angeles Lakers guard Josh Hart believes the only players who are untouchable in the team’s pursuit of Anthony Davis are LeBron James and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

Amid the Davis-Lakers talks, Lake Show Life reported that Josh Hart has shared his thoughts about how he thinks the management will decide on how the deal will work. Hart specified that only two players in the Lakers roster are considered untouchable and the rest could become involved in the Davis deal anytime.

The two players whom Hart was referring to were Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and the Lakers’ current superstar LeBron James. Quite evidently, there have been countless reports pertaining to Davis being chased by the Lakers as well as LeBron recruiting for stars to play for LA.

But Hart’s statement could be somewhat true, not only because of the fact that he is a true Lakers player but also because the franchise has already been in this situation before. And based on reports, what the Lakers have done in the past Davis talks was in a way resembling Hart's statement.

According to Lakers Nation, Davis still cannot seem to meet his current team, the New Orleans Pelicans, halfway. Sources noted that after the young All-Star center met with new Pelicans executive vice president of basketball operations David Griffin, Davis is still eager to find a way out, despite all the efforts of luring him back, which includes Zion Williamson as a bargaining chip.

Lakers is not the only team that is pursuing Davis this offseason as reports also claimed that the Knicks are keeping an eye on Davis’ decision as well. Just recently, rumors of Davis preferring the Knicks over the Lakers also hit the internet.

Sources revealed that the rumor of Davis choosing the Knicks over the Lakers came from Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s "First Take."

Despite all the buzz about Davis' preferred team and the Lakers' recruitment, the Pelicans’ current star has yet to make a final decision. Should Hart’s statement turn out to be true, the NBA is looking at the potential of the once famous Lakers-Davis deal that did not materialized.

During the first Davis talks, some of the Lakers' young core who got involved were, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball, Ivica Zubac and Hart himself.

After all, the franchise is expected to design a deal with or without Davis after the 2019 NBA Draft. The Lakers are in a good position holding on to a no. 4 spot in the NBA Draft.
