Anthony Davis is going through the motions of finishing the NBA season with the New Orleans Pelicans and hoping he lands a new team in the summer. It will be a quirky couple of months for the all-star center both inside and outside the basketball court.

At least one person believes that the worst is not yet over for the 25-year-old center - LeBron James. Ironically, it was James' team that was linked to AD before trade negotiations bogged down. With Davis making it clear that he wanted out of New Orleans, there were a lot of negative things said about him and LeBron believes more are underway, TMZ Sports reported.

"7 years in the league, nobody's ever said anything negative about AD but you can tell when the narrative changed when you don't do what they want you to do," James said.

Seeing how Davis is playing out the rest of the season with an NBA team that he no longer wants to play for, negative stories about him is only to be expected. Regardless, these are not expected to hamper interest on him by other teams.

The Lakers may have given up before the NBA trade deadline although a new round of pitching will be done in July. Aside from the Lakers, the Boston Celtics are also linked to all-star center. In fact, The Athletic reported that Boston is making everyone on the roster available.

Of course, several other teams are expected to enter the fray come the summer. The Lakers and Celtics interest in Davis could backfire at some point, harming their focus for the current season.

For the Lakers, it was a big price to pay especially since they are trying to secure a playoff spot. They suffered crucial losses after the NBA All-Star break and could end up missing the postseason wars.

For the Celtics, it remains to be seen if they will pay as well of announcing that everyone is available for trade. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, two young and proven assets could get miffed at it and may dampen their morale heading into the playoffs, Yahoo Sports reported.

It wouldn't come as a surprise if teams like the Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors or even the San Antonio Spurs enter the fray after the current NBA season. But unlike the Celtics and Lakers, they are keeping mum and prefer to air their interest after wrapping up the 2018-19 NBA season.
