There will be many life-changing incidents in “NCIS: Los Angeles” Season 11. Showrunner R. Scott Gemmill recently teased how the plot of the show this year will affect characters like Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen).

The plot of the next season will be about the missile attack in the Middle East and its consequence. Gemmill told TV Line that the challenge the heroes face is not only to stop the damage that can be caused by the missile launch but also to make sure there is no retaliation. That job will fall on the shoulders of Sarah MacKenzie (Catherine Bell).

After this Middle East plot is resolved, the new challenge for Deeks and Kensi, who were last seen trapped in a CIA unit facing gunfire from terrorists, will be in the form of an “incident.” Gemmill teased that this incident can potentially change the lives of both these characters.

The other big change in “NCIS: Los Angeles” Season 11 will be for Sam (LL Cool J). According to the producer, the character will meet someone that will make him “move forward in a new direction.”

The other big teaser Gemmill shared is that Gerald McRaney will be back as retired admiral Hollace Kilbride. The producer said that the guest star is “always so much fun to work with.”

The other big relationship that the fans will have to watch closely is the one between Mackenzie and Harmon Rabb Jr. (David James Elliot). The premiere episode will show MacKenzie talking about their past relationship and hinting at their future, TV Insider reported.

“NCIS: Los Angeles” Season 11 airs on Sept. 29 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. The title of the episode is “Let Fate Decide,” and according to the official synopsis it will be about Callen (Chris O’Donnell) and the others working together to catch the spies while Mackenzie works on the Middle East missile crises.
