Mars Incorporated on Tuesday announced a new popular flavor for M&M's — hazelnut spread. Though the best-known hazelnut spread is Nutella, the new candy will feature a generic version of the spread.

The company will also be rolling out M&M's Chocolate Bars by the end of this year, a statement from Mars Incorporated read. The products will be a permanent addition to the brand, and was one of the biggest innovation in M&M's history, the statement added.

According to reports, the new flavor will be incorporated into classic versions of the candy. This means the company will be combining milk chocolate M&M's, fused with a hazelnut spread center. According to the statement, M&M’s Hazelnut Spread Chocolate Candies will be available nationwide from April 2019 onward, in a teal colored packing in three sizes, Singles, Share Size and Sharing Size Stand Up Pouch.

The M&M's chocolate bars, on the other hand, will be made from smooth milk chocolate and will contain whole M&M’s Minis inside, which will be visible throughout the bar due to its large, molded, shareable bar format, the statement said. The bars will be launched in December this year in five flavors: peanut, milk chocolate, crispy, almond, and crispy mint.

The new addition was met with excitement online, where concept pictures of the two were shared.

“Anything with Nutella and M&M's is a winner,” one user wrote on Twitter, while another wrote: “OMG. This should be the lead on every news channel.”

The two new additions were among the many new innovations the brand has been trying out in the past couple of years.

Last spring, the brand brought three new flavors of M&M's to the shelves — Crunchy Espresso, Crunchy Raspberry and Crunchy Mint. As part of the publicity for the new products, the company asked the public to vote on which of the three was best. According to a report on delish, the winner was Crunchy mint, which has a rice crispy center and a minty chocolate shell.

According to a report from the USA today, the brand was also planning to unveil three new flavors — English Toffee Peanut, Mexican Jalapeno Peanut, and Thai Coconut Peanut — by 2019.

M&M’s released many other flavors as well, like White Chocolate Peanut, Caramel, and Halloween Cookies and Screeem.

"The industry is changing and consumer tastes are evolving. We're continuing to recognize and anticipate demand. We're excited to debut M&M'S Chocolate Bars and know that our M&M's fans and chocolate bar lovers alike will appreciate the delicious taste that comes from our rich and creamy chocolate," Allison Miazga-Bedrick, senior brand director, M&M's Brand, said. "We're equally passionate for the launch of M&M's Hazelnut Spread Chocolate Candies next year. We're thrilled to deliver this new flavor with color and fun, in a way that only M&M's can."

Mars Incorporated is a privately-held company which has about $35 billion in sales in 2017, according to reports. They also own other brands of candy like Snickers, Twix, and Skittles, and Dove.
