The Ron Paul campaign has released another highly entertaining ad, this time attacking surging Republican candidate Rick Santorum as a fake fiscal conservative.

Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator, promotes himself as the most conservative candidate in the race for the GOP presidential nomination, has gotten much attention for his far-right positions on social issues like gay marriage and abortion.

The goofy but fun ad by the Texas congressman's campaign claims Santorum is not conservative on fiscal issues and asks, Is this Dude Serious? using words like groovy and using an obese man's stomach to describe the doubling size of the department of education.

The ad states that Santorum:

  • Voted to raise the debt ceiling five times
  • Doubled the size of the department of education
  • Supported the biggest entitlement expansion since the 60s ($727 billion dollars)
  • Voted to send billions of tax dollars to dictators North Korea and Egypt
  • Hooked up Planned Parenthood with a few million bucks.

By hooked up, Paul is likely referring to the time that Santorum voted for birth control funding through Title X, which sent some money to Planned Parenthood. Although Santorum said he opposes all forms of birth control, he has said he does not plan to restrict access to it.
