A new “Splinter Cell” game is currently in the works, according to the Italian voice actor of the series’ main protagonist, Sam Fisher. For years, some Ubisoft fans have long been waiting to hear news about a new “Splinter Cell” title. But, if the latest claim is to go by, it looks like fans could get their hands on the much-awaited sequel as early as 2021.

New “Splinter Cell” Game

Multiplayer recently conducted an interview with Sam Fisher’s Italian voice Actor Luca Ward. During the interview, the voice actor claimed that a new “Splinter Cell” title is currently developing at Ubisoft. Ward referred to the upcoming title as a "conclusive episode" initially scheduled to arrive in 2020.

The launched of the new “Splinter Cell” game was later pushed back presumably because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ward also confirmed in the interview his involvement in the forthcoming project in the series. His comments are suggestive that the title is nearing its completion.

It was rumored a few weeks ago that Ubisoft might release the VR version of "Assassin's Creed" and "Splinter Cell" in Oculus. Ubisoft

According to the Italian voice actor, “They have not yet figured out whether to do it in 2021. It was going to release in 2020, and then COVID-19 happened, and several big projects in 2020 got delayed."

He added that “Others went on, like Cyberpunk 2077 on which I have almost finished working. But I am sure that Splinter Cell will return, this is a fact.”

Other “Splinter Cell” Details

Until now, Ubisoft is still silent about the idea of a new “Splinter Cell” title. A few months back, The Information reported about a rumor that a new “Splinter Cell” was in the works. However, it turned out that it was exclusively developed along with another “Assassin’s Creed” title for Oculus.

At the recent Ubisoft Forward event, the gaming studio did not announce anything related to the “Splinter Cell” series. The closest that fans got at the event was Sam Fisher’s appearance at “Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad.” Ubisoft released the last “Splinter Cell” game in 2013; since then, the franchise remained dormant.

It is worth mentioning that while Ward’s information about the new “Splinter Cell” title is exciting, the Italian voice actor has his fair share of inaccurate information in the past. He leaked about a new “Splinter Cell” game in 2018.
