KEY POINTS

  • Faction and town bounties are great sources of XP during the early game
  • The Amrine Excavation dungeon is one of the best activities to grind for XP early on
  • Crafting rewards players with tons of XP, especially when paired with town board bounties

Grinding for XP in MMOs can be tedious and “New World” is no exception. With this game’s emphasis on large-scale PvP wars and skirmishes, some players may find leveling up quickly to be slightly more difficult than usual, especially those who prefer to play PvE.

Luckily, “New World” has plenty of activities that all types of players can take advantage of. Here are some tips on how to grind for XP as quickly and efficiently as possible for those who have just started playing “New World.”

Faction And Town Board Bounties

After progressing through the introductory quests, players will soon arrive at their first settlement where they will get the option to join one of the three main factions of the game. Reaching this point in the early game will also grant players the right to take on faction bounties and town board requests.

These bounties will have players perform basic tasks such as clearing monster camps, hunting animals or providing resources for settlements. Completing bounties will grant a moderate sum of XP among other rewards, and the total amount of rewards will scale depending on player level.

Take as many of these bounties as possible and try to finish them all before returning to town. Also, try to gather as many resources while trekking from one objective area to the other to make each bounty run all the more fruitful.

Crafting

This ties in well with gold and materials acquired while doing bounties. Not only will some town board bounties require crafted materials, but crafting itself will also reward players with decent chunks of XP.

Players will have to level up their crafting skills eventually for the end game, so it’s best to start early. Refine materials and turn them into useful items to get as much trade skill and player XP as possible.

Expeditions

Once players reach at least level 23, they can begin running the Amrine Excavation dungeon in Windsward for large amounts of XP per run, as well as some decent loot drops. A good team of adventurers should be able to clear this dungeon quickly without much hassle.

Outside of the Amrine Excavation site is Barkimedes, a dog who will give players a repeatable bounty that involves getting bones from monsters inside of the dungeon. Make sure to grab this bounty before every Amrine run to maximize XP gains.
