The biggest betting line on the upcoming NFL schedule comes in the first game of Week 5. The New England Patriots are 10-point favorites over the Indianapolis Colts on “Thursday Night Football,” marking the only double-digit point spread on the first football weekend in October.

According to the early Week 5 betting odds, the biggest favorite Sunday is a road team. The Los Angeles Rams are laying a touchdown in their road game against the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle usually has one of the best home-field advantages in the league, but L.A. has easily been the NFL’s best team over the first four weeks.

The Carolina Panthers are also favored by seven points at home against the New York Giants. The Giants have sole possession of last place in the NFC East.

The Kansas City Chiefs are the AFC’s only undefeated team. They are favored by three points at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jacksonville ranks first in total defense, while Kansas City is first in points scored.

All but two games after Thursday feature betting lines between three points and seven points. The Detroit Lions are 1.5-point home underdogs against the Green Bay Packers. The Denver Broncos are getting two points on the road against the New York Jets. The Jets haven’t won since they embarrassed the Lions in the season opener and Detroit’s only victory came against New England.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are three-point favorites against the Atlanta Falcons in a contest that surprisingly features two one-win teams. It’s expected to be the week’s highest-scoring affair with an over/under of 57.5. The Steelers and Falcons both rank in the bottom five of the league in total defense.

The matchup between the Tennessee Titans and Buffalo Bills is the only Week 5 contest with a total that falls below 40 points. The Bills are dead last in yards per play. Only five teams have allowed fewer points than the Titans. Tennessee has scored more points than just four teams, including Buffalo.

Below are the available betting lines for all the Week 5 games, including the point spreads and totals. These are the consensus odds from multiple sportsbooks in Las Vegas and online, via OddsShark.
