KEY POINTS

  • The Dallas Cowboys have had one of the biggest offseasons in the NFL
  • Star rookie CeeDee Lamb is one of the highly-expected talents to suit up for Dallas
  • The Cowboys are expected to outshine teams such as the Baltimore Ravens and the Kansas City Chiefs when it comes to their overall offense

The accomplishments of the Dallas Cowboys have propelled them into higher expectations in the coming year. Their offense is predicted to be one of the best and is currently perceived better than the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs.

There’s no question that the Cowboys were able to improve significantly during the latest NFL offseason. One of the key highlights of the new squad includes high-quality signings such as Andy Dalton and CeeDee Lamb. The addition of Lamb comes as a surprise for the league as the top rookie prospect slipped to the 17th pick in the recently concluded draft.

Per The Landry Hat, one of the more crucial aspects of the Cowboys’ offense will be coming from their star quarterback Dak Prescott. The expectations are high for Prescott as he’s anticipated to bring in the leadership that would help the team. The signal-caller recently signed the franchise tag putting him back under team control. Couple Prescott with a veteran like Dalton off the bench and the team may have enough tools to remain as a dominant force.

Other than the Cowboys possessing elite passing skills, the team is also looking to benefit a lot from running back Ezekiel Elliott and 23-year-old Tony Pollard. These two provide enough muscle on the field and supply additional options for Dallas.

This puts the Cowboys ahead of teams such as the Ravens and the Chiefs when it comes to their overall offense. For passing and rushing, the Cowboys rank third and fifth respectively based on last season’s numbers. Their balanced style puts them as a considerable favorite in the coming season.

The Ravens are a top-five team in rushing but rank near the bottom in the passing department. Only three out of the NFL's 32 teams have performed poorer than the Ravens' 3,350 completed yards. Under the passing category, the Chiefs are among the best with 4,690 yards but fall near the bottom of the standings when it comes to rushing.

The season is looking to be an exciting one for the Cowboys as their revamped offense increases their chances this year. It’ll be interesting to see how their new additions and their veterans live up to the expectations of the Dallas faithful.
