Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Nick Foles opens up about money and endorsements in NFL.

Foles of the Jaguars is considered as one of the most successful NFL players in the league today. In fact, the 30-year-old quarterback revealed that he had a fair share of corporate endorsements offer upon entering NFL. However, Foles had a good reason why he didn’t “cash-in” on every offer.

In a recent exclusive interview with Men’s Journal, Foles confessed that money and endorsements in NFL “can get crazy.” But even when he was a bit younger and companies were ready to throw money just to put his name on their products or services, Foles decided not to grab the opportunity as he knew what’s more important for his career.

“For my own sanity, I try to say no to things, especially when it comes to corporate endorsements. If you’re an NFL player, companies will throw money at you to put your name on stuff, and it can get crazy. My wife and I have been blessed, and giving is a big part of what we do,” Foles revealed.

Aside from choosing to give than to receive, Foles had another reason to technically turn down some corporate endorsement deals in the past. According to the Super Bowl LII winner, he doesn’t want to take part in something that is far from what he represents as an athlete just to make money.

“I don’t want to act fake to rep a product I don’t believe in. Being genuine is more important to me than trying to cash in on every opportunity,” Foles emphasized.

Jacksonville signed the Folesto a four-year, $88 million contract in the offseason after releasing Blake Bortles.

Meanwhile, Foles is reportedly expected to return to practice sooner than later. According to Pro Football Talk’s Josh Alper, the former third-round pick’s recovery is looking great so far. Head coach Doug Marrone thinks that Foles could participate in team practice by Wednesday if he manages to recover on time. His imminent return will be a great boon to a Jaguars side that has been struggling for consistency lately.

However, it will take a while before the team actually manages to use Foles again in game-time situations. Foles has been out of action after breaking his collarbone and reports claim that before he can return to the active roster, he has to spend eight weeks out of the team.
