Anthony Chickillo, linebacker of Pittsburgh Steelers, was arrested Sunday for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.

Chickillo, who was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police, was charged with simple assault, property damage and harassment, according to the documents provided by a court here.

According to reports, an argument broke between Chickillo and his girlfriend at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington. Chickillo is accused of grabbing the woman by her arms, forcing her against the wall and throwing her to the ground.

The court documents did not list an attorney for Chickillo.

Chickillo, who was not present on Monday at Steelers' practice facility, was drafted by the NFL side in the sixth round of the 2015 draft and he has played his whole pro-career with the team in a reserve role.

"We are aware of an incident involving Anthony Chickillo last night and are still gathering information. He has been instructed to not be in the building today as we gather more information and work with the NFL Office. Until we have further details, we will not provide any further comments," Steelers spokesman Burt Lauten said in a statement.

According to the statement from National Football League (NFL), a preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 30.

Chickillo, who has appeared in three games this season, has one tackle and half a sack playing primarily on special teams. The Steelers did not play this week. The players were given the weekend off by the team. Mike Tomlin's boys are scheduled to host Miami Dolphins, who are yet to register a win this season, in their next fixture.

Steelers, with two victories and four defeats, are placed third on the points table of AFC's north division, which also has the likes of Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals.
