  • Pro-Bowler Larry Warford was recently released by the New Orleans Saints
  • Larry Warford made it to three straight Pro-Bowl stints from 2017-2019
  • It's speculated that Warford is a fit in either the Cleveland Browns or the Houston Texans

The speculated future destinations of top free agent talents continue to make headlines in the NFL. One of the latest rumors involves the recently released Larry Warford and where he would end up. Talk is brewing that he is fit in either the Cleveland Browns or the Houston Texans.

It has been a consistent career so far for Warford in his journey in the NFL. The Detroit Lions drafted the former Kentucky Wildcat back in 2013 as the 65th overall selection. As a rookie for the Lions, Warford immediately started for Detroit at right guard. The six-foot-three 317-pound athlete kicked off his career on a good note where he made it to the PFWA All-Rookie Team.

With a steady stretch of seasons with the Lions, he eventually moved on and signed with the New Orleans Saints where he would rise to be a three-time Pro-Bowler. But with the latest news of the Saints releasing Warford, teams like the Browns and Texans may just benefit from the mobile big man.

The caliber of Warford is a gem to find in free agency as he was cut by New Orleans due to salary cap reasons. While the Browns have enough guards with the likes of Joel Bitonio, Wyatt Teller and Drew Forbes, the addition of Warford may just provide a boost. Having Warford could be the protection quarterback Baker Mayfield could benefit from.

For other teams such as Houston, getting someone of Warford’s skills and experience can benefit the Texans. Coming off a 10-6 record in the 2019 campaign, the Texans are looking to push for a strong postseason run moving forward.

As the reigning AFC South division champions, the Texans can deepen their roster even more at right guard. Given that Houston has Pro-Bowler Laremy Tunsil at left tackle and Tytus Howard emerging as a key player, signing Warford gives the additional firepower they need.

The advantage of having a seasoned player gives any squad an edge into the coming season. It would be interesting to see which team would pick up the services of Warford in the upcoming weeks.
