Retired NFL star Rob Gronkowski is free to do anything he wants including possibly pursuing a wrestling career. Ideally, this is the road retired football stars follow and Gronk did make an appearance at Wrestlemania 33 back in 2017. He helped Mojo Rawley win the Andre The Giant Battle Royal but now it appears he wants a piece of the 33-year-old wrestler.

Gronkowski was recently in New York City promoting his partnership with CBDMedic and was thrown the WWE question by people in attendance, TMZ Sports reported. The former Pats tight end responded by saying he wanted to hand his friend a sound beating.

"My friend's in there and he's a little wimp, so I gotta go in that ring and whoop his ass!!!" he said, referring to his former partner as "Mojo 'Small Piece' Rawley!!!"

While that would be something, Gronkowski cautioned that a WWE run will not be on a full-time basis. It appears he only wants to do one crazy match, a dream that he had always wanted to do, CBS Sports reported.

"Practice it for a little bit, go out there, like in a Royal Rumble, go out there, I got my friend in WWE [Rawley], practice it and do a full-on WWE match. I'm not saying when. Maybe five years. I got the rest of my life to do that. I've always dreamed about doing that, just one time, going in there and going full out. That may be a possibility, one time, down the road," said Gronkowski.

In a previous post, it was mentioned how Gronkowski is not totally closing the door on a potential NFL return. Now pain-free, that would all depend on the desire and passion inside of him. Similar to a possible WWE stint, a return to pro football is not in his immediate plans.

At 30-year-old old, there is no question that Gronkowski could easily return to the NFL or fulfill his WWE dream if he wanted to. But for now, it appears he wants to avoid the physicality involved in both sports.

"If I have the desire to play football again, if I feel passionate about football again, if I'm feeling like I need to be out there on the field, I will go back to football," Gronk said.
