  • Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are in need of a wide receiver for their team
  • The Green Bay Packers selected a quarterback as their first-round pick in the recent NFL draft
  • Brett Favre believes that the Packers management was disrespectful to Rodgers by not selecting a wide receiver

The recently concluded NFL draft raised some questions regarding the Green Bay Packers’ strategy in the coming year. Even NFL legend Brett Favre says that these decisions of the franchise will eventually force Aaron Rodgers to leave the team.

One of the significant moves in the draft featured the 49ers trading up for the right to select Brandon Aiyuk in the first round. The talented wide receiver from the Arizona State football program was selected 25th overall by San Francisco with the speculation that Green Bay was interested in him for the 26th pick.

The Packers also opted to trade up from the 30th to 26th but drafted Utah State quarterback Jordan Love instead. This led to everyone wondering why the Packers did not select a wide receiver as additional tools for Rodgers. The previous season saw Green Bay fall a few plays short to secure a spot in the Super Bowl match. The draft could have been the perfect opportunity to improve the team’s offensive aspect.

What the Packers got instead was a young quarterback that appears as an apparent successor to Rodgers.

These developments had three-time MVP Favre open up with his thoughts on Rodger’s future with the Packers.

In an appearance in The Rich Eisen Show, Favre guarantees that selecting Love was having an impact on Rodger’s mind.

"I think he will play somewhere else," Favre shared.

Rodgers and Favre have already talked to one another after the draft and the surprising decisions the front office made.

As reported by Zach Kruse of The Packers Wire, Favre adds that it was disrespectful of the Packers to not give their veteran quarterback the necessary tools in the draft.

"They don't draft any weapons that can help immediately, to my knowledge. That sends a disrespect message to Aaron Rodgers. He has every right to be disappointed, if he is," Favre said.

It will be interesting to see how the Packers will play out in the succeeding season. While the team remains as a formidable squad, having internal turmoil might come as a factor deeper into the year.
