Jim Harbaugh is one of the football coaches many perceive could make it in the NFL, but the 54-year-old reiterated that he has no plans of moving up to the pros. This is despite the fact that several NFL teams have been linked to the University of Michigan Wolverines head coach.

Harbaugh is 38-13 since taking over back in 2015. Among the teams who have been linked to him are Chicago, Green Bay, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Miami and New York, to name a few. He has time and again reiterated that he is not interested in the NFL, but his most recent message may somehow douse water on the subject, ESPN reported.

"It's people spreading messages to further their own personal agenda. I'm on record right here, right now: I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying at Michigan,” he said, adding that he has many plans in place for his current team.

He added that the past weeks have been hectic on his end, spending the past week recruiting players in multiple states. He has not spoken to any teams, but is not surprised by the links that have tied him up to the aforementioned squads.

Michigan is actively in pursuit of several players. Their targets include Zach Harrison, Quavaris Crouch, Trevor Keegan, Kalen DeLoach, and Cornelius Johnson. The Wolverines are also in need of a safety, with Daxton Hill moving to Alabama.

With his decision seemingly set, it appears that Harbaugh is content at the college level. He did coach in the NFL twice. The first was in 2002-03 for the Oakland Raiders, while the other was with the San Francisco 49ers from 2011-2014. His last run in the NFL saw him leading the 49ers to a Super Bowl XLVII appearance before eventually returning to the college ranks.

Despite his recent statement, it won’t come as a surprise if his name continues to be suggested each time there is an NFL coaching vacancy. One person who can attest to that is Michigan Athletic director Warde Manuel, who lauds Harbaugh as one of the greatest coaches of the game and the reason why his name continually pops up, 247 Sports reported.

Hence, any links to any NFL team with Harbaugh mentioned on it is nothing but mere speculation. The former NFL coach of the year is obviously content with his current run and a return to the NFL scene seems moot and academic – at least for the time being.
