The Seattle Seahawks made headlines last week when they gave Russell Wilson a historic new contract. The team could soon be in the news again, but this time for trading away one of their best players.

Seattle is gauging the trade market for defensive end Frank Clark. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Seahawks have spoken with the Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts about a possible deal.

The Seahawks used their franchise tag on Clark earlier this offseason. The tag will pay the 25-year-old $17.1 million for the 2019 season, but he hasn't yet signed it in search of a long-term contract. Clark could be dealt to a team that's willing to give him a lucrative deal.

Indianapolis can certainly afford Clark. They have much more space under the salary cap than any team in the NFL.

Kansas City recently lost two of their top pass-rushers when they released Justin Houston—he signed with the Colts—and traded Dee Ford to the San Francisco 49ers. The New York Jets are in need of an edge rusher, and they're likely to take one with their first draft pick.

It's possible that Clark will be dealt before the NFL Draft starts Thursday night. Seattle has reportedly been looking to acquire a first-round pick in exchange the Clark.

Clark had a career-high 13 sacks in 2018. He posted 19 sacks over the previous two seasons.
