Tom Brady of the New England Patriots should know how the physicality in the NFL will take its toll on any player. And as far as how long one stays on playing in the sport, that all depends on how one can manage pain and still enjoy the game. Unfortunately, Andrew Luck could not take the pain and was not enjoying the game anymore.

As mentioned in a previous post, the 29-year-old Luck shocked a lot of people when he suddenly announced he was retiring from the NFL. Going through pain the last couple of years, the 2018 NFL Comeback Player of the Year bared how the pain stemming from injuries just took the joy out of playing competitive football.

Normally, players who made their mark would be cheered and lauded for their contribution to the game. But for Luck, it was the exact opposite - he heard the boos from the Indianapolis Colts fans who were obviously upset with his decision. The four-time Pro Bowler admitted he was hurt by the reactions although his move was a bit off timing.

As far as Tom Brady of the New England Patriots is concerned, Luck is entitled to do what he thinks is best for him. This comes after fans, reporters and even some former NFL players lashed out at the Colts quarterback in what they were branding a screw job, TMZ Sports reported.

"Everybody wishes they could be healthy all the time," Brady said when he appeared at The Greg Hill Show. "It is a contact sport and he’s certainly had his fair share of injuries, so guys retire at different times."

The case with Brady is different. At 42, the Pats star quarterback is looking to play until he can. He previously said that he plans to play until he is 45. But if the six-time Super Bowl champion's body can take it and remain effective, it looks like he will go out and play until Brady feels that it is time to wrap up a career.

Luck was one of the bright spots for the Colts, with pundits feeling Indianapolis had a really good shot at winning a Super Bowl title. The script has changed now, meaning coach Frank Reich will have to make adjustments with the untimely exit of Luck.
