NFT buyers purchased three plots of "digital land" on metaverse platform The Sandbox located next to popular rapper Snoop Dogg's mansion for a combined total of $1.23 million.

The three plots were purchased using The Sandbox’s native SAND token and the most expensive plot of land sold for $453k. The other two were sold for 67,142 SAND ($429k) and 55,125 SAND ($352k).

As per reports, each of the three estates consists of a 3×3 square of LAND or 9 individual plots that could be broken up and resold.

The prices of the estates were incredibly high because of the location of the plots and its proximity to the mansion. This is somewhat similar to how prices of the properties surge in real life when it is built in close proximity to a property owned by a celebrity.

LAND is stored as an NFT on the Ethereum blockchain and is just a piece of "digital real-estate" in The Sandbox. Buying “LAND” on the Sandbox platform allows users to create, play and monetize their own virtual content as well.

In September, Snoop Dogg "entered the metaverse" when he launched "Snoop’s Mansion," which offers access to exclusive NFTs. Snoop Dogg's partnership with Sandbox also offers “priceless experiences” to the exclusive 1,000 users who were able to obtain a “Snoop Private Party Pass."

The Sandbox continues to be the leading NFT Metaverse platform both in influence and reputation. The price of the SAND token has surged over the past few weeks and stands at $5.31 at 12.26 a.m. ET, according to CoinMarketCap.
