Nokia's software pact with Microsoft allows it to tweak user interface (UI) on its phones, but it has no such plans, Nokia's technology chief Rich Green told a developer conference on Wednesday.

We have a right to manipulate user experience, UI, but why would you? Chief Technology Officer Green said at the event held on the sidelines of the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona.

Green said consistent user experience was one of the key strengths of Windows Phone 7.

The partnership between the two giants was announced last week, and many analysts have said Nokia's inability to differentiate on Windows Phone platform could hurt sales at the Finnish firm.
