  • Nvidia is reportedly unable to meet demands for GeForce RTX 3080
  • A new report reveals the chipmaker only fulfill less than 10% of its retailer's order
  • Nvidia has not yet issued any statement about the supply of the GeForce RTX 30 graphics card series

A few weeks after it launched the GeForce RTX 3080, Nvidia confirmed that the stock of the powerful graphics card is limited. Fans and enthusiasts might be surprised at how limited the actual supply reportedly are. A new set of details from a major European gaming components retailer claimed that Nvidia only supplied a small fraction of its flagship graphics card to the orders placed by its hardware partners.

The report came from the Danish online retailer Proshop, which is responsible for supplying items to various European countries. The site publishes a daily list of order and supply numbers of Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, RTX 3090 and RTX 3070 following countless information requests. At the time of this publication, Proshop placed an order of 9015 units of Geforce RTX 3080 graphics cards but only got 489 with 272 units listed as incoming.

These figures are equivalent to only 8.4% of the number of GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card Proshop ordered. Interestingly, Nvidia was only able to fulfill around 5.4% based on the actual cards received.

These numbers mean that just 8.4% of RTX 3080 cards ordered by the retailer has been fully or partially fulfilled, reducing to only 5.4% for cards actually received. With the launch of the RTX 3070 less than two weeks away, it appears the situation will be similar for the mid-range card, with only 12.2% of the retailer's orders having been received or listed as incoming. The same issue is happening with the retailer’s order of Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 GPUs.

Proshop placed 1912 RTX 3090 orders from different AIBs. The retailer only received 200 GPUs at the time of this publication. On an aggregate basis, this is equivalent to just 10.5% of the supply and demand fulfillment of Nvidia. The newly launched GeForce RTX 3070 GPU seemingly has the same fate.

Out of the 4280 GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card orders, Proshop is scheduled to receive only 291 units. In terms of order fulfillment, Nvidia could only cater to 6.8%. So far, the chipmaker has not yet issued any statements about the supply of its graphics card series.
