It was a busy day on July 8, 2017, as several members of the “Dancing With the Stars” family said, “I Do.” Now, one year later, things still seem to be just as romantic as they were then for former pro turned judge Julianne Hough and her husband, NHL player Brooks Laich, as well as pros Maks Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd.

Hough and Laich wed in Couer d'Alene, Idaho, on July 8, while Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy had their own fairytale affair on Long Island in New York. Now, as both couples celebrate their one-year wedding anniversaries, they all seem even happier than ever. Here’s how the last year has played out for the happily wedded couples.

The dancer and actress, 29, appeared to be in a reflective mood ahead of her anniversary, sharing several videos from her big day to her Instagram page ahead of the one-year mark. Laich also got reflective with a throwback photo to the day before their nuptials on his account as well.

The two have also not shied away from sharing how happy they’ve been as newlyweds either. Back in February, the pair gushed to People about their life together, agreeing that marriage brought a whole new different level of love to their relationship.

“It’s just the greatest thing ever to marry your best friend,” Laich said at the time. “We thought we loved each other when we were engaged, and then marriage is a whole new level. It’s just fun to see the love continually grow everyday. I just feel like a pretty lucky man right now. It’s the best.”

The pair has also been open and honest about the small pet peeves they've dealt with in their marriage as well, with Laich admitting that Hough did have one habit that tended to annoy him, though he believed it wasn’t something that was really a huge issue.

“Sometimes she’ll leave dirty dishes in the kitchen sink and I just absolutely love a clean kitchen. That’s the area that I probably use the most in the house because I make a lot of food, juices and shakes, so when the kitchen us dirty I get a little frustrated but that’s pretty much it,” he said in May. “I’m a pretty lucky man if that’s my biggest pet peeve with my wife.”

The two pros went on to compete against one another during Season 25 of “DWTS” just two months after their wedding, but the parents of son Shai weren’t affected by their competition.

Prior to their return to the show last fall, Maks actually told International Business Times that he was loving marriage to Murgatroyd so far.

“Well, I can only speak on my own behalf, but I like it,” he said at the time. “I hope she’ll say the same.”

The pair also went on tour this year along with Maks’ brother, Val, and have even discussed plans to give Shai a sibling in the future, admitting it was something they would like to do, whether they conceived their own or adopted.

“I would love three...” Peta told Extra. “The second one I would love to have very soon.”

“You don’t have to elbow me—I'm in, I’m down...This process was tough. Now it’s like, ‘Let’s do it again!’”

For now, the pair may be focusing elsewhere, as Val prepares for his own upcoming wedding to fellow pro Jenna Johnson.
