LeEco was the first smartphone brand to unleash a Snapdragon 820 chipset handset, the Le Max Pro at the start of the year. In April, LeEco introduced a new flagship smartphone called Le Max 2 that features Snapdragon 820 chipset and 6 GB of RAM. The newly launched OnePlus 3 also features the same chipset and RAM combination. Here is comparison between the Le Max 2 and OnePlus 3 on the basis of their specifications, features and price.

Design and Display

The OnePlus 3 and Le Max 2 are both equipped metal unibody chassis. The Le Max 2’s weight is 185 grams and it measures 156.8 x 77.6 x 8 mm. It comes in colors like gold, silver and gray. The OnePlus 3 measures 152.7 x 74.7 x 7.4 mm and it weighs 158 grams. It is available in color choices such as gray, black and gold.

The OnePlus 3 has a 5.5-inch screen that offers a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The Le Max 2 has a bigger screen of 5.7 inches that supports a Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.

Chipset, RAM and Storage

Both the flagships are powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset. The OnePlus 3 features 6 GB of RAM along with an internal storage of 64 GB. The Le Max 2 comes in two storage sizes. The 32 GB model variant has 4 GB of RAM whereas its 64 GB model has 6 GB of RAM.

Camera, Software and Other Features

There is a 16-megapixel rear camera on the back panel of OnePlus 3. It offers features like OIS, phase detection autofocus and single LED flash. It has a selfie shooter of 8-megapixel.

The 21-megapixel camera of LeEco Le Max 2 is equipped with OIS, phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash. It also features an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

Both the smartphones come preinstalled with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. The OnePlus 3 and Le Max 2 feature their custom UI over the Android OS. Both the devices are equipped with common features like NFC and USB Type-C.

The fingerprint sensor is embedded in the physical Home button on OnePlus 3 whereas the biometric recognition feature is available on the rear side of Le Max 2. The Le Max 2 does not feature a 3.5 mm audio jack, but allows earphone connectivity through its USB Type-C port, Indian Express reported. The Le Max 2 also features an IR blaster.

Battery and Price

The OnePlus 3 is packed with a 3,000 mAh battery. The Le Max 2 has a slightly large battery of 3,100 mAh capacity. Both the batteries carry support for fast charging.

The OnePlus 3 is priced at $399. The 32 GB Le Max 2 can be availed for 22,999 rupees ($342) and its 64 GB variant is priced at 29,999 rupees ($445).
