New year, new drama! According to reports, the plot of “The Originals” will focus on a new subject when the CW series returns for the second half of Season 2 in 2015. Curious which character will be stepping into the spotlight when the midseason premiere airs? TVLine teased the answer, reporting that fans would find the second part of Season 2 centered around baby Hope.

Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and Klaus’ (Joseph Morgan) daughter will have her developing powers explored in the upcoming episodes of the vampire drama. “We want to explore what makes the child of Klaus, a hybrid, and Hayley, a werewolf, completely different from any other child on this planet,” executive producer Michael Narducci told TVLine. “You’ll begin to see certain signs -- subtle at first, then maybe not-so-subtle -- in terms of how this baby is something completely unique.”

Unique indeed! Check out the many titles that belong to New Orleans’s newest, little creature: Hope is a member of the Mikaelson family, the Labonair family and an unknown family of werewolves. She’s also a member of the Crescent Wolf Clan, the North East Atlantic Pack and the first child to be fathered by an original hybrid.

And did we mention Hope also has traces of magic running through her veins? As the granddaughter of Esther, Hope will have the ability to channel magic, a trait that makes the pureblood hybrid extremely powerful. Now that Esther (Sonja Sohn) is no longer a threat and Hope’s parents have their little girl back, Hayley, Klaus and the rest of the Mikaelson gang will be able to teach the little hybrid how to control and strengthen her powers as she grows.

There’s only one problem: Esther’s sister won’t be too happy when she finds out that Hope is still alive. Esther made a deal with her older, more powerful sister that in exchange for fertility, she would have to sacrifice the first born of every generation to her sister (i.e., Hope!). If she failed to do so, the Mikaelson clan would feel her wrath.

Hopefully Hope’s powers will develop fast enough for her to defeat her grandmother’s sister and put an end to this diabolical family tradition.
