‘Outlander’ Season 3 Spoilers: Episode 8 Synopsis, Videos And Photos Revealed

“Outlander” Season 3 finally reunited Jamie with his wife, but it turns out Claire isn’t his only spouse. In last week’s episode, Jamie was revealed to have a second wife that he hadn’t told Claire about yet, and that won’t be a secret for long in episode 8.

“Claire returns to Lallybroch with Jamie, where she does not receive quite the reception she was expecting,” the synopsis teases.

Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) are returning to Jamie’s home after a fire burned down the print shop. Jamie saved his nephew Young Ian (John Bell) from the burning building, and he is bringing the boy back home. He had earlier told Ian’s parents that he hadn’t seen the teenager because he thought he was keeping him safe. Let’s remember that Jamie’s version of keeping Ian “safe” involves giving him a job selling illegal liquor — not exactly a mother’s dream.

In a video clip released by Decider, Jenny and Ian are not happy when they learn about Ian’s whereabouts. Jamie explains that everything was fine in Edinburgh until an agent of the Crown started extorting him. Jenny still seems irritated.

Jamie and Claire’s return won’t be celebrated. Jenny (Laura Donnelly) and Ian (Steven Cree) will be upset that Jamie lied to them. They’ll also be hurt by Claire’s disappearance. They don’t know that she time traveled. They think that she just ditched them after the Battle of Culloden.

In another sneak-peek video from Marie Claire, Jenny introduces Claire to her son James, who is now a father himself. Jenny won’t let Claire help change her grandchild. “Do not want to bewilder the bairn with a strange face now,” Jenny says.

Jenny’s cold shoulder isn’t the only thing that will trouble the couple. “Unbeknownst to her, Jamie’s made some choices in their time apart which come back to haunt them with a vengeance,” the logline hints.

“Outlander” Season 3, episode 8 is titled “First Wife.” The identity of Jamie’s spouse will be revealed, and it’ll rock Claire’s world. The trailer shows Claire pretty upset about the revelation. The end of the promo video even shows her wondering if they’re really soul mates. Watch below:
