Paris Hilton is one lucky girl. Her fiancé, Chris Zylka, pulled out all the stops in creating her perfect engagement ring - a pear-shaped diamond with a 20-carat centre stone.

Diamond expert and celebrity jeweler Michael Greene told People that the ring is valued at close to $2 million, and revealed that Zylka was very specific about how he wanted the ring to be.

“Paris at one point in time told Chris she really loved her mother’s pear-shaped diamond, and when Chris came to me that was his request,” Greene said. “The pear-shaped really jumped out for him and ultimately for her. He did some fishing, but in the end it was all him. He’s a smart guy, and hangs out a lot with the family, and I think she realized how much she liked her mom’s ring.”

Greene added that Hilton had no hand in the creation of her engagement ring, since “Chris did it all.” He added: “He wanted to do everything so perfectly. He wants the best thing for his princess. And he did all the right things. He told me he had to set up a time to meet up with Paris’ father to ask for her hand in marriage. He did the whole thing. All the traditions.”

It took Greene and his team two days to design the ring, even though it would normally take them three weeks. When they presented Zylka with the finished product, he started shaking and was even reduced to “a boy size giggle.”

Hilton also had the same reaction when Zylka proposed. “The ring was so gorgeous and sparkling. I was shaking as I put it on. It is the most beautiful ring that I have ever seen!” she gushed.

The hotel heiress even posted a photo of her new bling on Instagram and wrote that “diamonds are forever.”

Given the size of Hilton’s engagement ring, the couple doesn’t need to get a wedding band anymore. However, Greene said the newly-engaged couple are eager to get more bling. “With a ring like this, you don't need a wedding band but Chris just called me to say thank you and that they’ve got many more things coming in the near future,” he shared with E! News.
