Patrick Mahomes net worth is going to skyrocket soon. The franchise quarterback is expected to sign an extension worth around $200 million and the Kansas City Chiefs are more than willing to pay him.

Mahomes played incredibly last season. His display of maturity and all-around brilliance is almost unheard of in his age. Last season, he helped the Chiefs secure its first ever AFC Championship in more than 25 years. The team only lost to the Tom Brady-led New England Patriots in the Super Bowl but that does not take away the fact that Mahomes could be the biggest star of his generation.

According to CBS Sports, it is widely believed that the 24 year old will fetch $200 million in his extension deal. If it pushes through, it will cement Mahomes’s name in history books as the highest paid quarterback ever. The throne currently belongs to Matt Ryan who secured a $150 million, 5-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons earlier this year. Aaron Rodgers, on the other hand, is the highest paid NFL player per year. The Green Bay Packers is paying their starting quarterback and MVP contender $33.5 million annually for the next four years.

If Mahomes gets his wish, he will be paid around $40 million annually, easily eclipsing Ryan and Rodger’s large contracts.

Is Mahomes deserving of the biggest contract ever for a QB? The answer is yes. He is still young and has yet to reach his peak. The only second quarterback to throw 50 touchdowns in a season, Mahomes is clearly not done yet. If he remains healthy and focused for the rest of his career, he will definitely rewrite NFL history books.

If he waits for the right time, the odds will be in his favor as the salary cap in the NFL is set to increase in the next seasons. The Chiefs got a bargain deal for their player because Patrick is still signed in his rookie contract and is set to receive $645,000 this year.

Per The Cheat Sheet, the Texas-born player originally did not play the quarterback position. Different schools wanted him to play as a defensive anchor and he chose Texas Tech because they gave him a chance to play his preferred position.

Aside from the guaranteed salary worth $16.4 million he signed in 2017, Mahomes is generating revenue via an endorsement deal. Patrick Mahomes' net worth and his endorsement deals are estimated to be at least around $26 million, with his guaranteed salary and a handsome $10,086,152 as a signing bonus.

Patrick is notorious for not signing with any brand and not until in 2018 had he signed with Hunt’s Ketchup. With his age and stellar play on the field and good rapport with fans off it, it will not be surprising if numerous brands come knocking on his door to represent them.
