Playboy kingpin Hugh Hefner is the latest celebrity to fall victim to internet death hoax. Rumors on Twitter and Facebook suggested that Hugh Hefner died of heart attack, as the sites have many other fake celebrity death reports.

However, the famed bachelor took to social networking site Twitter to downplay his death rumors and said he is still alive and in good health.

The rumors of my death are, as Mark Twain observed in a similar situation, greatly exaggerated. I'm very much alive and kicking, he tweeted.

Amused by the rumors circulating he commented, I'm lying in bed next to Shera Bechard with a big smile on my face, reading tweets about my unexpected demise. I'm happy to see how many people are pleased that I'm not dead.

Hefner is now 85-years-old. He suffered from a mild stroke over when he was 59 and has since calmed the ruckus lifestyle for which he is still wildly famous with men around the world. The quintessential playboy has dated up to seven women at once.

Hefner isn't the first celebrity to fall victim to a Twitter hoax. Earlier this year rumors spread that comedy star Jim Carrey had died during a snowboarding accident. Christian Slater is another celebrity to have his death wrongly reported on Twitter.

Charlie Sheen Death rumors also circulated the Internet on Wednesday. As with the Hugh Hefner death rumor, Sheen used Twitter to dispel the rumors.

The actor wrote, Warlock: long nap...very much alive.

It appears Sheen's still Winning. And his career is still alive too with another TV show reportedly in the works for the former-Two and a Half Men star.

Recently, Hefner made headlines after heart break, not heart attack, over an announcement that his wedding with ex-girlfriend Crystal Harris was cancelled. The cancellation, which will have a Lifetime special feature in the future, was announced just a few days before the wedding.

Hefner is no stranger to weddings: He was married to Mildred Williams from 1949-1959 while having two children. With countless girlfriends in between, he was married in 1990 to Playmate of the Year Kimberly Conrad for eight years, with whom he also had two children.
