Gainers

Saks Inc (NYSE:SKS) stock climbed 17.63 percent to $16.08 in pre-market trading after media reports, quoting people familiar with the developments said the retailer has hired Goldman Sachs Group Inc. to explore strategic alternatives, including a sale.

Kinross Gold Corporation (NYSE:KGC) stock gained 3.10 percent to $5.65 in pre-market trading after declining 3.35 percent in regular trading on Tuesday. The company stock has a 52-week low of $4.97, a 52-week high of $11.19 and $6.26 billion in market capitalization.

NPS Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:NPSP) stock advanced 2.55 percent to $14.90 in pre-market trading. The company stock has a 52-week low of $6.62, a 52-week high of $14.89 and $1.35 billion in market capitalization.

Eldorado Gold Corp. (NYSE:EGO) stock gained 2.44 percent to $7.15 in pre-market trading. The company stock has a 52-week low of $6.58, a 52-week high of $16.20 and $4.99 billion in market capitalization.

CVR Partners LP (NYSE:UAN) stock dropped 5.50 percent to $24.91 in pre-market trading. The company announced that Coffeyville Resources LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CVR Energy Inc, will sell, subject to market conditions, 12,000,000 common units representing limited partner interests (the "common units") in the partnership in a registered public offering.

Frontline Ltd. (NYSE:FRO) stock lost 4.07 percent to $2.36 in pre-market trading. The shipping company’s stocks soared more than 11 percent in regular trading on Tuesday as freight rates rallied for the biggest vessels loading in the Persian Gulf.

Huaneng Power International Inc. (NYSE:HNP) stock declined 3.48 percent to $41.10 in pre-market trading. The company stock has a 52-week low of $24.15, a 52-week high of $49.59 and $14.96 billion in market capitalization.

Lowe's Companies Inc. (NYSE:LOW) stock plunged 2.47 percent to $41.40 in pre-market trading. The company reported net earnings of $540 million for the quarter ended May 3, 2013, a 2.5 percent increase over the same period a year ago. Sales for the quarter decreased 0.5 percent to $13.1 billion from $13.2 billion in the first quarter of 2012.
