  • Emery could be coaching in Italy next
  • Emery claims getting multiple job offers
  • Arsenal doing better under Arteta's watch

Little has been heard of Unai Emery since he was sacked by Arsenal last December. Coming in to replace Arsene Wenger, the 48-year-old struggled to steer the Gunners to something laudable and this led to his dismissal. He lasted only 18 months and was replaced by Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners are slowly getting into the groove of things with Arteta looking to get more consistency from his players. So far, several seldom-used players have been responding to the 37-year-old manager. One of them is Shkodran Mustafi who has had a new lease on life. After seemingly headed out the door, the 27-year-old is reinvigorated. Much of this was covered in a previous post.

But of course, Emery has his system and players need to learn and blend in. And while the case of Mustafi may raise some questions on his ability to manage, Emery reveals that he has had multiple offers to return. Hence, it should not come as a surprise if the 48-year-old returns and calls the shots for a particular team. And based on his narration, it appears he is a hot commodity over in Italy, Football.london reported.

"I did have some contact with several Italian clubs, but for one reason or another, it was not possible to work here. I am open to everything and keep a very close eye on Serie A," Emery said.

Emery kept the names of the clubs who touched base with him, although those Italian teams could be just the tip of the iceberg. It would not be surprising if teams from other regions have also considered him to call the shots for them.

"I won’t rule out any country: England, France, Spain, where I already worked, or Italy, which I’ve never worked in before," he said.

It was not a smooth exit for Emery who continues to lash out at his former team. He questions the attitude of the players. It appears the Spaniard experienced something forgettable and even used the departure of Aaron Ramsey who moved to Juventus, TuttoJuve reported.

"I complimented him on his choice because he picked a club where he can win a great deal. It’s an interesting challenge for him," Emery said.

Unfortunately, Ramsey is just one player he pointed out. Mustafi is enjoying a resurrected career and David Luiz also shared how fun it is to play now under Arteta. If Arsenal goes on to perform better under Arteta, the issue could all boil down to the system of a manager. Emery is a good coach but not all systems apply to certain teams.
