  • Sane nears move to Bayern
  • Sane had positive talks with Flick
  • Deal could involve Alaba to offset finances

Leroy Sane is a player who has been widely rumored of making a switch after this season. And it appears the 24-year-old winger has inched closer to a transfer to Bayern Munich, revealing that he has had conversations with Der FCB manager Hans-Dieter Flick.

As mentioned in a previous post, it is widely believed that the German footballer will exit Manchester City and move to Bayern. He does have a year left in his current deal with City but has been having an awful season. Making matters worse for Sane is that he is coming off a delicate knee ligament injury. Regardless, such has not turned multiple teams off with Bayern at the top of the heap.

Bayern may have just anted up with Sane revealing that he talked with Flick on the phone for about 30 minutes. They were discussing the move and the Der FCB coach was more concerned about Sane's commitment than his health. From the looks of it, Flick was convinced of this fear and a deal seems to be appearing, Bild reported.

Sane was reportedly offered a new contract but the German did not sign the offer. And based on how things are going right now, it appears that the winger has made up his mind and is determined to bolt Manchester City. The needed fee to get Sane from City is pegged at £90 million.

Aware that further discussions with Sane may be futile and that he is likely to walk free in 2021, Man City is seen by most to likely accept the deal. But seeing how most teams are trying to save up, David Alaba could be used to offset the required transfer fee. Like Sane, Alaba's contract will also be expiring in 2021.

However, adding Alaba could be complicated. The 27-year-old has also drawn interest from other teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Chelsea. A likely scenario would be to get rid of Alaba first and using the money from him to facilitate a deal for Sane with City.

Sane hopes to make a difference with Bayern with things not going well over in Man City. Most teams are holding off on hefty priced trades as they try to curb down their losses. Bayern could be one of them although there are alternative measures to get a transfer done by the next window.
