Premier League star Caglar Soyuncu’s agent has revealed that they are considering renegotiating with Barcelona this summer.

La Liga giants Barcelona are once again headlining the transfer talks in the Spanish league. In recent weeks, the Catalan club has been linked to an array of possible transfer moves this coming summer. As the Lautaro Martinez deal continues to progress, Barca has started checking out other prospects as well.

Recent reports revealed that Leicester defender Soyuncu could join Barcelona at the end of the season. In a recent interview with AS (via Whoscored.com), Soyuncu’s agent, Mustafa Dogru, said that his client has been heavily linked to a move to several Premier League clubs such Manchester City and Liverpool. However, Dogru also noted that he and Soyuncu are open to reconsidering a past negotiation with Barcelona.

According to Dogru, Barca has already presented an “interesting project” in the past. However, they were opting for a deal that would put the sensational defender on the first team at the time.

"It is possible that Barcelona could sign Caglar this summer, as they wanted to sign him before he moved from Altinordu to Freiburg. We negotiated with them back then, and they presented an interesting project. But we wanted a situation which guaranteed first team football for Caglar,” Dogru revealed.

Soyuncu came out guns blazing for Leicester this season. The Turkey international wasn’t able to make a huge impact at Leicester last season but was granted another opportunity under Brendan Rodgers after Harry Maguire was sold to Manchester United over the summer. Leicester had decided to put their trust on the 23-year-old and their decision has paid off massively this season. In fact, Soyuncu played a significant role in putting the club on the brink of qualifying for next season's Champions League.

As for how Barcelona could benefit from Soyuncu, the current situation of the club suggests that signing the defender will be a great move. With Samuel Umtiti reportedly up for sale, and the fact that veteran defender Gerard Pique has already turned 33 earlier this year, all signs point to the direction of signing a new and talented centre-back this summer.

Aside from Soyuncu, Barcelona has also been reportedly sizing up a deal to sign 22-year-old defender Juan Foyth. Both Tottenham and Foyth have agreed to part ways after a series of conflicts within the club this season, and the situation has led to Barcelona becoming one of the frontrunners in pursuing the Spur.
